Park Trail Design, Construction, and Maintenance Workshop Kanopolis State Park will host the 2025 Trail Development and Maintenance Workshop, featuring in-depth sessions on multi-use trail design, construction, and maintenance—with a special focus on equestrian trails. During the workshop, the Saline County Mounted Patrol and Rescue Squad will present on their role in supporting trail safety and addressing trail-related issues. This workshop blends classroom instruction with on-site tours of the park’s trail system, offering both practical knowledge and real-world examples to apply in your own projects. DATE: Wednesday, October 1st LOCATION: Kanopolis State Park Register Here: Trail Development and Maintenance Workshop 2025 AGENDA 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM: Pros and Cons of Multi-use Trails, Construction Tips *Participants will learn best practices in trail layout and construction, techniques for preventing erosion and environmental impact, and methods to keep trails safe, accessible, and enjoyable for all users 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM: Saline County Mounted Patrol & Rescue Squad *The Saline County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol and Resue Squad is an all-volunteer non-profit organization. They currently have 21 volunteer members of various backgrounds and disciplines from working with large animals, fire/emergency medical services, scuba diving/ice rescue, confined space, high and low angle rope rescue all in addition to several being sworn deputy sheriffs.
