We are delighted to announce that KRPA is offering free Regional Member Education Symposiums on March 27th, 28th, and April 2nd and 3rd. Sponsored by Cunningham Recreation, these sessions are a fantastic opportunity for our members to enhance their skills and knowledge in key areas of parks and recreation leadership.

Program Details

- Focus: Learn how to effectively utilize the Economic Impact Calculator and 5 key messages for the future of parks and recreation. Plus, a special session taught by Cunningham Recreation on Placemaking.

- Networking: An excellent chance to connect with fellow professionals and share experiences.

1. Calculating Success: Mastering the Economic Impact Calculator - 9:00am-10:15am

This session introduces the Economic Calculator, a tool designed to help with financial analysis and decision-making. Participants will learn how to effectively use this tool to assess and interpret economic data, enhancing their understanding of financial trends and economic policies.

2. Icebreaker/Discussion - 10:15am-10:45am

3. Placemaking Session - 10:45am-11:45am, Speaker: Bill Patterson, Cunningham Recreation

In this session, led by Bill Patterson, attendees will explore the concept of placemaking. The focus will be on creating public spaces that promote people's health, happiness, and well-being, and how these principles can be applied in various communities.

4. Lunch - 11:45am-12:15pm

5. Kansas Update and Regional Discussion - 12:15pm-12:45pm

6. Rebranding Park and Recreation in Kansas - 12:45pm-1:30pm

This segment delves into the strategies and methodologies behind rebranding parks and recreation in Kansas. It will highlight successful case studies and offer insights into the challenges and opportunities presented by such initiatives.

7. Break- 1:30pm-1:45pm

8. Uniting Tools for Maximum Impact - 1:45pm-2:45pm

An integrative session that demonstrates how to effectively combine the Economic Calculator, rebranding strategies, and other tools discussed earlier. It includes a walk-through example to show how these elements can work in tandem for optimal results.

***Special Micro-Certification Kickoff Meeting - 3:00pm-4:00pm ***

This session is for people who have registered for the Relational Leadership Micro-Certification. It is the kick-off introduction session for the certification program.
