Park Tour

Thursday, January 29 - 8:30AM - 11:00 AM

Join us for a guided tour showcasing several of Topeka’s premier parks and recreation facilities! The tour will highlight recent and upcoming projects across the community, including Family Park (featuring new pickleball courts, shelter house, playground, plus the nearby pool and golf course), and Gage Park, where participants will see new sand volleyball courts, Playland playground progress including the Sky Trail, and plans for a future carousel facility.

The route continues with a Lake Shawnee Lap, featuring Tinman Circle playground improvements, the renovated campground and upcoming cabins project, Bettis + Envista Complexes, the off-leash dog park, rentable shelter houses, disc golf course, and Adventure Cove—home to kayak, paddleboard, and paddle boat rentals, plus a floating playground. The tour will also highlight the heated fishing dock, trail mile markers along the seven-mile Lake Shawnee Trail, and the horticulturist’s greenhouses.

Experience firsthand how thoughtful design and investment in parks enhance recreation, accessibility, and community engagement across Shawnee County.
