KRPA Hall of Fame Nomination Form

Nominate the trailblazers who have left an indelible mark on the world of recreation and parks! The KRPA Hall of Fame, an esteemed honor bestowed upon distinguished individuals, welcomes nominations from the KRPA general membership. Hall of Fame selections are made by the KRPA Executive Committee.

Application Deadline is October 9, 2026

Requirements:

A parks and recreation professional who committed a lengthy time of service to the field of parks and recreation in Kansas.
Must be retired from the profession at least (2) years.
Candidates must be a past member of KRPA.
Professional nominees are preferred to have had professional certification but not required.

Application Process:

Application open - August 2026
Application deadline - October 9, 2026
Winner notified - November 2026
Award Presented at KRPA Conference, January 2027

Voting Criteria

Education (10%)- Relevant academic degrees, professional certifications, and continuing education that support growth in the parks and recreation profession.
Professional Experience (40%)- Career accomplishments, leadership, innovation, partnerships, and contributions that have strengthened parks and recreation services and communities.
Professional & Community Involvement (50%)- Service and leadership within the profession and community, including participation in KRPA, committees, boards, speaking engagements, volunteerism, and involvement in state, national, or international organizations.
